Comfortable clothing and shoes (preferably clay court, tennis or flat soled) to exercise in, a hat, water bottle, sunscreen (if needed) and tennis racquet. If you don’t have a tennis racquet we have racquets of all sizes you may borrow free of charge.
Group and squads are determined by age and skill level, as well as taking players goals into consideration. Once placed into a group or squad, coaches will make an assessment and players may be asked to move to a more appropriate session if needed.
This varies on the program, but average players per court are listed below:
• Hot shots: 4-6
• Squads: 4
• Junior and adult group class: 4-6
• Cardio tennis: 4-8
• Private: 1
• Semi-private: 2
From as young as 3 years old players with lessons will focus on motor skill development and run for 30mins. Players can join red ball classes which run for 45mins from 4 or 5 years of age.
Parents are welcome to stay and watch, but we ask they do not enter the court during group classes unless asked to do so by the coach. This helps foster independence for the child, and allows them to build the player/coach relationship. All of our coaches are Tennis Australia coach members, have been screened by Tennis Australia and hold valid Working With Children checks, so parents can feel comfortable dropping off and picking their children up from tennis lessons if they prefer.
Enrolments
New customers can enrol into group classes on our website www.victorytennis.com.au, or enquire about private lessons by emailing info@victorytennis.com.au.
Existing customers can email or contact your coach if any changes need to be made.
Yes, you can join anytime and payments will begin from the start of your lessons.
No, we run a 40 week coaching year and will automatically re-enrol you into the same classes the following term, until you notify us that a change is needed or you wish to cancel.
Payments
Payments for ongoing lessons are made via direct debit and are charged in advance, every two weeks, using a nominated credit card or bank account. Please see our Coaching Calendar for exact payment dates and read the Direct Debit Service Agreement for further details. Casual private/semi-private lessons can be paid online or in person using credit card.
We do! Processing and merchant fees charged by Payrix are already included in your fortnightly tuition fee, and you will only be charged extra for Amex or failed payments.
Payrix is a platform we use to handle credit card and bank transactions. You may see this name appear on your credit card or bank statement when paying your tennis tuition fees.
Memberships
A membership simply means you are enrolled into weekly tennis lessons. Membership benefits vary depending on how many group classes or squads a player is enrolled in per week. For a list of full member benefits, please see our ‘Memberships and Benefits’ page
After completing one full term of classes, you may cancel your membership at any time with 14 days written notice. We require you to fill out our Membership Cancellation Form, and it is not sufficient to cancel in person, over the phone, via text or email. Our cancellation form is easily available and can be emailed to you upon request.
No, we do not run lessons on public holidays. Payments have been amended to reflect these changes to our usual schedule, so there is no need for any make-ups, credits or refund.
Our coaches will use their expertise to help guide you through this process and make the appropriate recommendation. Hot Shot Matchplay is typically when a player can rally and understand how points in tennis are won and lost, while Junior Comp players are able to serve, rally and keep score by themselves.
Tennis?
No, anyone can take lessons with Victory Tennis without a club membership. However, if you wish to represent the club in competitions then you will need to join the club as a member, which also gives you free access to use of the courts outside of coaching times.
Memberships
We will do everything possible to run lessons as scheduled, and we reserve the right to run classes indoors when necessary. If your lesson has been cancelled due to inclement weather, you will receive a text as with as much notice as possible.
If you do not hear from us, please assume the session is still going ahead as any resulting no shows will not be made-up, credited or refunded. If the lesson is
cancelled, you a credit will be applied to your account which you can use to enrol into another class in the same term, or taken off payments for the following term or holiday program.
All absences need to be notified using our Customer Portal, more than 12hrs in advance of the scheduled lesson. Failure to do so will result in losing the lesson. Each player is entitled to three make-up classes total, per term, for both group and private lessons. Make-up lessons can be booked using the customer portal, and are subject to availability. Make-up lessons must be used within the same term and cannot be used for holiday programs or in the following term. If a make-up lesson is not available, unfortunately you will lose the lesson and no credit or refund will be given.
We offer a credit for missed lessons due to extended periods of illness or injury, once a medical certificate has been shown. Alternatively you may cancel your membership, but place in the class cannot be held if you choose to do so.
